SBE production lines short description- 3000, 5000 and 20,000 tons of biochar production per year-
1) Raw material: Biomass such waste wood, bark, agriculture biomass, coconut shell, corn cob, Jatropha cake and more.
2) Process:
- Raw material is carbonized in Rotary Kiln- Torrefaction process.(200℃-650℃)
- Raw material is changed into biochar (20%~30%) with combustible Gas (70%~80%)
- Combustible Gas is burnt in a furnace and changed to Flue hot air (800℃-1,400℃)
- Flue Gas is supplied to Rotary Kiln (40%-Indirect heating system) and supplied to Boiler / dryer (60%) – closed system, the gas return to the process.
- The Rotary Kiln and the Gasifier-Charcoal Processing Machine protected by Patents.
- Materials: Special Alloy with Refractory material.
- Auto control systems which make a saving on electricity and easy control material transfer speed and quantity.
3) The shredded feedstock undergoes our Torrefaction process removing volatiles and water that results in changing the chemical structure of the biomass. This process requires both skilled and semi-skilled staff as well as considerable support staff. This increases the energy/ton ratio. Biochar has an energy value of 26 Mega joules/Kg.
4) size of the feedstock : 0.5cm – 5 cm with thickness of less than 1 cm, based on the customer request.
5) The density of the feedstock will determine the output quantity.
An example of 20,000 tons biochar production per year
Daily biomass input –240 – 270 tons a day (biomass density 70% and up)
Daily biochar output – 60 – 65 tons a day
Quality- based on customers request, fixed carbon control between 65- 90%+
For biomass feedstocks the range of carbon credits per ton of biochar is 2.57 to 3.26 with an average of 2.83 ton of CO2 for the CORC Biochar Price Index- CORCCHAR
Yearly output – 20,000 – 21,000 tons a year, 3-4 workers per shift , Building size needed for one production lines about 1,000 SQM. Raw material area 2,000 SQM
Production lines on the same structure can be in a capacity of 3,000,5000, 10,000 tons of biochar per year.
